Our save the date postcards
to save moola we made our save the date as postcards. It ended up costing hardly anything. I designed the stationary based on the stationary my Grandma Jane used. Its a sweet little vintage cross stitch. I wanted it to be interactive so I decided to make it connect the dots! I mean who doesnt love connect the dots. But here's the thing- word is that most people didnt get around to connecting them. Next time I will make the numbers bigger. My brother included. And maybe I will make less of them.

C+K Save the Date from christopher jammal on Vimeo.
This is a little story of our engagement on a soggy pumpkin farm in Warwick, NY.
this took 2 tries but it was worth it. I made the diorama and chris made the characters- he is a storyboard artist afterall and a talented one at that. It was so much fun I want to make more!

My head is Spinning around wedding world
currently i am stuck on decor.
I tend to overdue it when it comes to decor. I am a bit crazed when it comes to bunting-of all kinds, hearts, circles triangles squares. I love geometry. It was the only type of math i was ever good at. I was playing with a few of these and ended up with a knotted mess.
I tried those tissue puffs. I thought it would be easy. Martha made it seem so simple. But oh boy was i wrong. Back to the drawing board. I only have 3 spaces to decorate. I just need to figure out what goes where. Any ideas blogoshpere? Any crafty ladies want to sew with me over some cheap bubbly and cookies?

The Sea
I miss living by the sea. I mean I live on an island now but it's not the same beach feeling. Not to mention its at least an hour train ride to coney island. I miss that salt water breeze and the way your skin feels after spending a while near the sea. I have decided I will have to own a house on the sea.

conan was right
"If you work really hard, and you are kind, amazing things will happen."-conan o brien.
I am trying to find a job. Its difficult, the market is so horrible. Its competitive in nyc. The Hunt has been unsuccessful as of yet. But I am trying hard. I am trying to be kind.

and now...
working on the save the date. it pretty much tells the story of how chris proposed. lets just say its a new adventure in animation.
the venue changed for the wedding and we are now having it and the overbrook house on the cape. the house has 9 bedrooms so our whole fam can stay with us. and you know what, its actually reasonably priced. we get the property for an entire week! i am very happy with this new twist of events and i cant wait for these 9 months to fly past!

wedding complications

Ok so wedding stuff= kinda tough.
Venue-So far i have emailed a dozen farms with no luck. so if you own a farm and would like to rent out your space to 2 lovely people for a small wedding of 120ppl then HELP!
Dress-still undesigned. Chelsea Jones is across the ocean and its hard to design and create a dress without your number one collaborator close by.
Pie squad is currently being assembled!
Photographer- still hunting. But I am very interested in Our Labor of Love
My tall glass of water is very helpful, and I am so thankful he puts up with my shenanigans and wedding neurosis.
Oh and I am working on a print for the dress or maybe linens or part favors...I dont know how it will be used yet but it will be used.

grimmies
im battling a bad case of the grims. just an overall sorry feeling. ive even started drinking a bit of that mood enhancing yogi tea to lift my dull spirits. as i said earlier today i am currently seeking new employment. industry really crushed my spirit. I felt no ownership of my designs or accomplishment for that matter and it was really not a good place for me. so i left without any other prospects. dangerous i know, especially since well i have a large loan payment to shell out each month. the plan is to get a temporary sort of job, the kind that requires no real creative effort until i figure out how to properly showcase my own work. Ive considered a bit of the ol' etsey action. I sent some prints out to spoonflower and had them made on cotton sateen. They are a pretty site. but i still have a bit of the branding to sort out. but i would not be opposed to a creative job where i feel my style jives well with the other designers. I know commercial sells. Ive had this hammered into my brain. But i know there are daring designers out there creating really interesting designs. And people buy them! They do despite all the companies that think only butterflies and rock and roll princess' sell. oh man. ive cold called a few of my faves but no luck. Yo Lesportsac, Oilily! Youre stuff is awesome why dont you work with me? see! im working on it.

it'll be some wedding
so i have this folder on my desktop labeled: "tie my knot"
the contents of this folder had been pulled from the farthest reaches of the interwebs and tangled up into a mess of wedding dreams. Im afraid this blog will now become a sorting area for these things. Above are some inspirations ive been gathering. now i know barn weddings are all the rage but right now i am hankering for a barn hoedown! A pig roast and a burger truck to deliver delicious burgers to my family and friends.
I have begun delegating. Even though the wedding is planned for next year- we are hoping for 10/10/10, because its a repeating pattern i love those and we love october and well its just easy to remember. chelsea jones who is living all parisian is going to make my dress.
sean latrelle will be our banjo player.
brian mansfield will be our officient.
lele will be the por pie baker along with carl and alex.
and there will be no wedding party. i will not force my friends to wear matching garb for my amusement. thank me later friends.
but it will be a party. and i want a rental where all my friends can stay with us and help set up for a few days before hand. the budget is itty bitty but boy do we have plans!
